Arun complex is a re-purposed mixed-use commercial building in Nepalgunj, Nepal. We were invited to design the interior spaces for the project by the client. The project was being developed using the fast track delivery method in two phases. Phase I was a clothing store on the second floor, and phase II was a restaurant and bar on the third floor.
During our initial visit to Nepalgunj we analyzed the site, reviewed constraints with the client, clarified their objectives, and identified the business model and target users. We developed minimalist retail spaces that showcase merchandise and enhance the user experience, using a BIM model to efficiently explore design options and arrive at the ideal solution. Our work included preparation of conceptual through construction drawings with accuracy and code compliance, creation of renderings and presentation materials to communicate design intent, participation in owner, consultant, and contractor meetings to ensure alignment, and selection of interior finishes, paint, and furniture that complement the design vision and meet quality and client expectations.
